Communicating as a Virtual Assistant

The ability to truly communicate is really the key in maintaining and strengthening relationship with your client. It's important to have regular communication with your clients for the ongoing tasks. You need to build and maintain your credibility so that they will trust you and retain you.  


Here are some positive attitude in communicating with a client to maintain a good relationship.  

  • Being truly open and honest. 
Be honest in addressing your capabilities, how long it will take you to complete a task and exactly what skills you have. Your clients will learn what they should expect from you then they can build trust in your work and your abilities to deliver. Honesty clarifies the mutual understanding of project procedures, responsibilities and expectations.  

  • Quick to respond.  
A quick response about every concern and executing the tasks assigned is important. Usually clients expect a response within 24 – 72 hours. 

  • Sending work update. 
Client usually requires daily or weekly update about the project. In order for them to monitor the status of tasks in progress and to ensure that the task is completed on time. 

  • Ask question. 
Ask questions to know more about the project guidelines. Certain that you understand the type of work involved, duration and other criteria so that a good system smoothens work processes. 




Effective communication deepen your connections to others, improves teamwork, decision making and achieve successful project from start to finish.
